Binge Eating and Fat Burners

by Neil

I have been binge eating for quite sometime but over the last few years it has gotten worse. I started taking ephedrine based fat burners about 10 years ago and then switched to non ephedrine fat burners over the last 5 years.

I am very active so I did not gain weight until about a year ago. Back in August I finished a 5 mile run then 2 hours later I felt light headed
and felt like I was going to pass out. I was rushed to hospital with what the doctor said was low blood sugar.

Over the next 4 months I continued to binge eat and take fat burning pills which had the same amount of caffeine as 6 cups of coffee. Every once in a while when I ate I would start feeling light headed so I figured it was low blood sugar but when I exercised the light headedness went away. Heart palpitations started 2 months ago when I tried to sleep.

I think I was worried about the damage I was doing to myself. Over the last 3 weeks the light headedness increased and last week while eating I felt really dizzy and light headed and heart palpitations. I was rushed to the hospital. The doctor checked everything: blood sugar, blood pressure, heart rate and all were normal. He told me to follow up with my family doctor to run some heart tests. For the next 3 days every time I ate the light headedness returned and back to the hospital I go. Again everything comes back normal. The doctor took an x-ray of my stomach and suggested a flush of my system. The light headedness went away while eating. I have had my heart tested and everything is fine.

Now it has been a week and I seemed to get stressed when I eat but I am starting to feel
better since no binging or fat burners.

Could my body be sending me a message?

ANSWER

Is your body trying to tell you something?

I would have to reply a resounding YES! Your body is definitely trying to tell you something.

Our bodies are amazing. They send us small signals and cues to help us stay or get healthy. And eventually if we don't listen; we end up in the hospital.

Long term use of of fat burners; even just the ones with caffeine can be detrimental to your health. Now I'm no doctor; but I do not recommend ever using any form of fat burning pills, drinks, etc. Even long term use of caffeinated beverages can wreak havoc on your brain.

#1 Cravings

Be prepared to crave your fat burners or caffeine. Even though your system has been flushed; your brain will still have a strong dependency on those chemicals.

#2 Nutrition

Try to make sure you are getting a steady amount of nutrition; not too much and not too little.
Keeping your blood sugar levels balanced will help curb the desire to binge eat.

Remember that change takes time; and you may slip up and make a mistake.

If you need some extra help; I do provide a free e-course.

All my Best,

Stefanie
