Binge eaters tend to have a love/hate relationship with food. It has become a source of comfort for them, but at the same time they wish they could stop. It parallels an addiction. Normally when someone is addicted to something, they can take that substance out of their environment and begin recovery. But with a food addiction, like binge eating, you can't remove food from your environment. You have to have food in order to survive. That is why it is challenging to overcome, but not impossible!
