I know EXACTLY how you feel!! I've been dealing with anxiety and binge eating since I was a kid, now at 20 it has caused major digestive problems. Following some major stressors since August, I have had a nightmare of a time dealing with constipation. I have researched everything from food allergies to IBS and I've finally just realized that it has a direct correlation with my binge eating. I will go a few weeks doing fine and eating well. But then something will trigger me and after a binge WHAM I'm severely constipated. Now I know that I can't just focus and stress out about my diet but my anxiety is the main thing to monitor. I too have to restrict starches and sugar which are my main binge foods, but at least now I know what is causing this. Portioning food out helps control my binge eating a lot. Anytime I experience the evil food thoughts I make myself focus my attention on something else. Sometimes just going outside and breathing fresh air helps silence the negative thoughts.
