Driving Force
Stefanie,
Your site and story has been really helpful to me! You are very inspirational.
I have recognized that I binge eat but I do not know why. I can't figure out what the driving force behind this is. Do you have any suggestions on how to find out more about one's self to help overcome binge eating?
Thanks, Clare
ANSWER
Write in a journal!
I know it sounds simplistic. In fact it is so simple and easy that most people brush it aside and think that they can do it without writing anything down. But I know that without writing in my own journal I would NOT be where I am toady.
You don't necessarily have to know all the reasons you binge, let alone the beliefs behind it.
Yes, it is helpful to know. But sometimes it happens in the middle of the process and not when you want.
Believe me the process of overcoming binge eating brings up issues you didn't know you had. Just be patient with the process. Its like peeling an onion... one layer a time, and its okay to cry while peeling!
As you go through the process; beliefs will become clear and you will know where you need to make adjustments. Just follow your intuition and LOVE yourself through the process.

All my Best,
Stefanie
