I Can't Stop
by Juicylover99
(MI)
I can't stop eating. It is uncontrollable. I know what problems being obese causes, but I am on my way there. I think this is my last chance at a normal life.
I have a plan for the next 3 weeks. I currently weight 157 and am 5'3''. For the next 5 days I am water fasting, then I am going on a detox of only 1 banana, 1 apple, and 1 mango a day with unlimited water. I think my weight will be down to at least 140, which is at a healthy BMI. I am young enough to lose the weight and still have a high metabolism (19 yrs old). And i have fasted before and lost 10 lbs, but I really want to detox and get a hold of myself.
I am determined to be healthy and break this cycle. I am a college student and most of the restaurants around me deliver. That is a huge problem for me. I am isolated and alone. I sometimes eat almost an entire large pizza on my own. I feel so out of control.
ANSWER
Before you do this 'quick fix' or detox... I want you to stop and think for a minute.
- Is this plan going to change the way you look at food?
- Is this plan going to create a healthy emotional state for you?
- Is this plan a temporary 'band aid' or a REAL solution?
I really want you to think about this and answer those questions honestly. I know that you want to see your body change; but your body is only giving you the signs and symptoms that something else needs to be adjusted.
Doing a 'diet' like this will slow down your metabolism; at any age. The first thing your body will burn on a low caloric, low protein diet is muscle (because it requires so much energy to maintain).
Muscle is at the hub of a body's metabolism... and if you lose muscle your body doesn't burn as many calories and you are worse off than what you were before.
Even though you may weigh less; your body fat percentage is actually higher... your body becomes 'fatter' and your metabolism (the rate at which your burn calories) is slowed down.
The BEST thing you can focus on is health; not quick weight loss. Losing weight will happen naturally when health is the goal.
But I'm not just talking about health in the aspect of nutrition and exercise... I mean your overall health; emotionally, mentally, spiritually as well as physically.
Please take the time to think this over! Take a look at the pages below and focus on a real solution; not something that is going to leave you worse off in the long run.
All my Best,
Stefanie
