I feel like I have no control
by Rachel
(Baltimore, MD)
I feel like sometimes I have no self control.
I have always battled with my weight although I'm not considered obese - I'm probably 2 sizes and 20 pounds overweight. I have had lipo twice.
I know what it takes to lead a healthy lifestyle but can only do it for so long. For example, last year I went to the gym and ate healthy and was in great shape. Now it seems like that lifestyle is SOOOO inconvenient and takes so much effort. I feel like it is impossible for me to have willpower for months or years straight. I diet for a little while and then revert back to eating something I shouldn't and the thought of taking 2 hours out of my day to work out when I could be spending time earning money or hanging with my family seems like a miserable option.
When I had time and money was no worry, I could spend the time preparing meals, going to the gym, working with a personal trainer, etc. I feel like it's a part time job for me to get into shape and lead a healthy lifestyle.
Is there medication that I can take? I feel like I need to check myself in somewhere so that my diet and exercise routines can be regulated. I would if I could afford it.
Help!
ANSWER
I hear you loud and clear! I've felt the exact same you are right now. I know it can feel like a full time job to make healthy daily choices. And I know that when your beliefs are not in alignment with that kind of lifestyle... it does become a full time job to keep up.
Imagine if your beliefs actually supported maintaining a healthy routine easily. What if you believed that having a life full of abundance in all areas required taking care of you first? What if you believed that it was easy to choose an active lifestyle? What if you believed that healthy, whole foods were you best option for meals?
What I'm trying to say is that if you feel like eating right and staying active are hard... then you are believing things that DO NOT support that kind of lifestyle.
The place to start is not will powering your way through a healthy diet. It starts with what you believe. If you want to create a healthy lifestyle that comes naturally; then you must have beliefs that support living it.
YOU can do this. All it takes is giving some space for the possibility and building from there.
Its not about the right medicine... its about making changes on the inside that creates automatic changes on the outside.
All my Best,
Stefanie
