Its getting out of control.

I've binged for 2 days in a row. I never fail to binge or overeat at least twice a week (it has been going on for about a year now) and I really want to stop.

Every morning I tell myself its a new day and I eat healthily but by the time it reaches 3-4pm I cannot control myself anymore and just binge till I feel so full and depressed.

I tell my parents about it but to me it feels like they don't take me very seriously or maybe they just don't understand how it really is and how much I actually eat.

I'm really guilty and annoyed and i really want to be able to control myself again.

I feel so lonely because there's no one i can talk to.

Please Help, thank you.

ANSWER

I first must make sure that you understand the disclaimer for this website. I cannot give advice to minors unless they have parental consent to contact me.

With that out of the way... I'll get right down to it.

There is no way to "willpower" your way to end binge eating. It doesn't work that way. Binge eating has a deep emotional root; and that is where you need to look.

If all a person ever does is pull the weed and leave the root; it always comes back. Binge eating is no exception.

Most people continue binge eating because their emotions and limiting beliefs are never addressed.

The solution is take a look at the emotional force that is supporting your need to overeating and use food as comfort.

The best tool you can use to help you get started is journal writing. Take the time of day that you struggle with (3-4pm) and write instead of eating. Don't edit or worry about whats coming out; just write and see where it takes you. Doing this will provide you with valuable insight into what issues you need to address.

You may also want to talk to your parents again. If they still don't understand; then maybe you can show them this website... the more they know and understand about binge eating, the better equipped they can be to help and support you.

Please don't give up. Just remember that this will take some time. But when you begin to change in the right ways, (limiting beliefs and emotions) it becomes easier and more clear about how to let go of being eating.
